Is the Métis Scholarship, Bursary and Training Program a permanent academic awards program?
All Métis regional associations as well as Métis National Council would like that to be the case, but for the immediate future, MNC and Health Canada sign a yearly agreement for Health Canada’s contribution of funds to MNC for this program. Health Canada, to date, has agreed to do this until end of the fiscal year 2009-2010. Any extensions beyond this date will be determined with input from both Métis regional associations’ and Métis National Council’s continuously developing evaluation and reporting information to Health Canada.
