Titanium dioxide, the metal from which the rod is made, does not dissolve or corrode in water, so it is perfectly safe. A National Occupational Exposure Survey conducted by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health from 1981 1983 when Titanium Oxide was becoming widely used in day-to-day applications, shows that the e stimated numbers of employees potentially exposed to Titanium Oxide (TIO2) everyday, totaled 2,749,569 males and 540,849 females.
