Is the Medical Physics program accredited by a relevant organization?
The Program of medical Physics present at the University of Adelaide is accredited by the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM). The accreditation procedure is becoming more formal in Australia, and is managed through the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM). The ACPSEM accredits the postgraduate courses of study to ensure their suitability in preparing physicists with the necessary depth and breadth of knowledge required to assist with their clinical training. Candidates embarking on a career in medical physics should ensure that they enrol in an accredited course of study. The postgraduate degree in medical physics is normally at the Masters level, but may be a PhD or some other postgraduate degree accepted by the ACPSEM. It contains components for Radiation Oncology, Nuclear Medicine and Radiology.
