Is the Mariemont Fire Station “illegal”?
No. Village officials recently contended that the fire house is “illegal” because the basement where the fire fighters sleep does not allegedly meet building code for proper ingress and egress in the event of a fire. We have confirmed, however, that the firehouse meets current building code standards. Accordingly, such contention that the firehouse is “illegal” is simply not true.
