Is the lymphatic system the same as the circulatory system?

The lymphatic is its own system and should not be confused (or grouped) with the circulatory system. While the lymphatic system does rely on the circulatory system for flow (pulsations in the arteries and veins drive the movement of lymph), the systems have their own vessels and contents. Exchange does occur between blood and lymph (including white blood cells, antigens, dead cells, etc.), but while blood is pumped back to the heart, lymph is moved to and from various lymph nodes, where white blood cells can begin to circulate in either system. I hope that made some sense!
