IS THE LORDS DAY THE CHRISTIAN SABBATH?
Exodus 20:8-11 & Romans 14:5-8 By Pastor Bill Redondo Before we answer this question I’d like to explain to you the five views* held by different churches with regards to the Fourth Commandment to Keep the Sabbath Holy. 1) Consistent Sabbath View – This Seventh Day Adventist view says once God gives a law, that law is binding until later revelation specifically cancels it. Everyone is morally bound by the 4th commandment to keep the Sabbath. 2) Inconsistent Sabbath View – popularized by the Puritans says that God changed the day from the seventh to first. Christians keep the Christian Sabbath,” to remember Christ’s resurrection. 3) Antinomian Sabbath View – is held by most present day Christians who believe that God changed the Sabbath from the seventh day to the first. Therefore keeping the Sabbath” is binding upon all. However the way you actually keep it is entirely up to you! We are not under the OT law but under grace.
