Is the Lord of the Rings the best film of the last decade?

So glad you consider Lord Of The Rings to be one film, and yes, it’s by far the best ‘film’ of the last 10 years. There have been many brilliant films in that time, Spiderman 1 & 2, the Matrix, the Harry Potter franchise, Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator, Titanic, to name but a few, but Peter Jacksons’ 9 year ‘labour of love’ stands head and shoulders above anything else. Film-making at it’s very best.

I’d consider it ‘this’ decade. Not ‘last’ decade. LOTR editting was well done, not too draggy and not too fast either. It was very well timed and enough for viewers to understand the concept without the need to read the book. Definitely one of the great films for this decade. My shortlist would be LOTR, Akeelah & the Bee (coz’ it was well shot and the way it carries the story was excellent), The Matrix, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Requiem for a Dream, Shrek & the Incredibles (tie for best original animated story), Hitch (best romantic I’ve seen in a while)…..urr..I think that’s all i can come up with for now. There’s actually an internet film database for ranking of the best films of the decade. http://www.imdb.com/chart/2000s check it out (- -) …have fun!!
