Is the local snowmobile club in favor of the closures?
The local snowmobile club – the Timberline SnoGoers – were represented during the SRMP stakeholder negotiations. Throughout that time, and through the development of the SRMP document, they were aware that implementation of SRMP direction would involve legal snowmobiling closures. In this area compromises were made by all users in order to achieve greater harmony between recreation user groups and the wildlife in the area, and to ultimately provide some security and legitimacy for snowmobiling in this area.
