Is the light emitted by the fiber optic transmitter safe to look at?
The FOTEx board uses optical LEDs, so the light is technically safe to look at, but as a matter of good practice, it is recommended to not look directly into the light sources and to not look directly into a fiber that is connected to the light sources. This is done because in most real fiber optic systems, the light would be harmful to look at, so it is best to practice not looking at the light, even though it is technically safe to look at.
