Let’s face facts, immigrants coming to Miami and planning to stay in Miami don’t even *need* to learn English. While immigrants in other cities in the United States and across the world have usually assimilated and learned the main language, Miami has become a mecca for non-English speakers from Central/South America. I don’t see this changing anytime soon and in fact, aside from Miami Beach, Miami proper will probably become 90-95% Hispanic, while immigrants in other cities such as Los Angeles eventually completely assimilate and use English as their first (if not only) language. Leo: I do not consider Miami to be an international city. An international city is truly diverse, has a lot of international or blue chip companies based there, has decent mass transit, parks and world class museums, art galleries and libraries and is generally a tolerant, non-insular and outward looking place to live. Miami has none of these things to offer — heck, even the science museum is 25 years out of
