Is the Koran really true?

0

Islam holds that any verse contradicting the Koran in Jewish or Christian scripture has been corrupted, and is thus superceded by the Koran as the most recent and accurate revelation from God. Thus, in order to be shown as false on its own terms, the Koran must contradict itself. If it does so, then yes, the Koran is false on its own terms. One might still, of course, raise objections to the Koran based on Jewish or Christian presuppositions (though this would likely get us nowhere, since you won’t convince anyone to start from opposing suppositions) or raise objections to theism in general. However, contradictions between the Koran and other Abrahamic scripture is not problematic – at least, according to the Koran – because the Koran is more authoritative than all other scriptures.
