Is the King James Bible the true version?
Working at a Christian bookstore in Texas several years ago, I ran in to several people who would chastise me for recommending any other version of the Bible than the King James Version. I even had one person have a look of total shock on his face when I finally revealed to him that Jesus did not speak in King James English; “are you serious?” He would respond. Those who say the King James Version is any more relevant than any other translation is basing their argument on one of three things traditionalism, ignorance, or legalism. Because there is nothing that makes the King James more special or prevalent than other translations- and there is nothing outstanding about the fact that the King James translators used a certain kind of ancient documents over the ones found recently.
