Is the King and I movie with Yul Brynner factually accurate?

The movie version of The King and I is based on the play by the same name, which in turn is based on a book called “Anna and the King of Siam”. This book is based on the memoirs of Anna Leunowens (I’m misspelling this, I’m sure.) You could probably try to find out information about her. That would give you some factual information. Much IS made up, though I don’t remember how much anymore. I do know that the story of the King planning to send elephants to Abraham Lincoln is true, at least in part. I don’t believe that they were ever sent, but it was something he wanted to do. I don’t think that Anna L. had anything to do with that, however. EDIT: Okay, yes, I spelled her name wrong. Here is the correct spelling: Anna Leonowens.
