Is the ISV NT based on the Westcott and Hort Greek text?
I realize some Bible scholars that I have a high opinion of endorse this new version, such as Chuck Missler and Robert Morey. However, I see the same problem with the New Testament as with the NIV and NASB in my opinion. You have apparently used the Greek text which is based on the Greek text developed by Westcott and Hort. No, we didn’t. We used a bunch of texts. Please see the principles of translation listed in the front matter of the ISV for our policy on this. You can also visit our web page that discusses this on line, if you wish. Actually, Westcott and Hort is only one of the text’s we examined in producing the ISV New Testament. But because WH is only a conflation, as are the Nestle and UBS texts, we didn’t confine our analysis to mere conflations only.
