Is the Israeli/Palestinian conflict a UN made conflict?
An intelligent question. Yes, the current conflict is UN made, there would be no Jewish state of Israel in the former Palestinian territory had UN Resolution 181 not been placed. As for the solving of the conflict, I wouldn’t dream on any future solution to last very long. Both nations are very volatile and have extreme prejudice against one another, probably as great as any two races or religions in recent history (it would be comparable to cats and dogs, without state of the art fighter jets and suicide vests). That’s not to say that it hasn’t been proven that historical enemies can eventually form truces. It was possible for France and Britain to come to some sort of truce after arguably hundreds or even thousands of years of war, but there are a variety of reasons for that. For one thing, they don’t exist in nearly the same proximity to one another. Yes it is a UN made conflict. After world war II the U.N. more specifically the U.S. and the U.K. decided to create the state of Israel in the middle east to compensate for their losses during the holocaust. The Arab nations did not agree, but they did it anyway. So the Palestinians were forced to move so that the Jews could move into their neighborhood. Not a good idea by the U.N. It is what it is.
