Reunion,is French and Mauritius is African.Mauritius belongs to the African Territory. Long Ago,Reunion was colonized by the French. The French owned Mauritius too but in 1810,there was a war at Grand-Port in the South East part of Mauritius. The French won it.After some months, the English came back but they did not pass by Grand port,They passed by Cap Malheureux in the North Part of Mauritius. Then they made their way to Port Louis to finally attack the French who weren`t aware of their arrival.Due to greater number of British soldiers, the french governor surrendered to the British.Mauritius was owned by the British since 1968 when we,(I`m Mauritian)-when we mauritians, voted for the independence. We finally Won it.Then in 1992,Mauritius Became a Republic.
