The Io 1.2 driver is compatible with FCP HD (4.5); however, as a precaution, we recommend making a backup or cloning your working OSX drive. There is an application called Carbon Copy Cloner that works well for this purpose: http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html Clone your drive to a second OSX partition or hard drive; test the FCP update on your OSX copy. A good reason to do this: if you had to reinstall FCP 4.0, the software update in OSX system preferences will no longer allow you to upgrade to FCP 4.1.1, it takes you straight to 4.5. If you decide to upgrade, we recommend disconnecting the Io during the FCP process and then reconnecting it after completion. Lastly, if for some reason the Io does not come online, go to this location on your OSX hard drive: /users/username/library/preferences/FCP user data/ Once there, delete the FCP 4.5 preferences and POA cache files.
