Is the InfraGard application records check the same as a security clearance?
The InfraGard application process requires an FBI criminal records check. This is NOT the same as a US government security clearance background investigation. InfraGard membership does not grant the member a “security clearance”. Persons who are InfraGard members may, as appropriate, state that they have passed the “FBIs InfraGard Records Check”. InfraGard members may NOT state more generally that they have passed an FBI Background Check.
