Is the information in the Research Tree the same as the browsable census records?

Mostly but not exactly – both came from the census transcription spreadsheets that I created. To fit on the screen, the census records show only the first few census columns of the transcription (name, age, gender, race, and location). The Research Tree will show all of the data that was transcribed for the person for that census year (occupation, real estate, ability to read/write, immigration year, etc ..). In the census records a wife will be shown as a “Tapp” which is how it is transcribed whereas in the Research Tree her surname will be shown as “Unknown” unless the maiden name is known. The census records shows the age and the Research Tree shows a birthdate.
