Is the iMBA program affiliated with Penn States business school?
The Penn State iMBA is a collaboration of four Penn State campus business schools: Smeal (University Park), Black (Behrend), Great Valley (Philadelphia), and Capital (Harrisburg) that offer resident MBA programs. Ten years ago, some of these programs were planning to offer their own online MBA degrees. The president of Penn State recognized this would cause the campuses to compete for the same students. As a result, it was decided that there would be only one Penn State online MBA program—the iMBA—and the iMBA would be a collaboration of the business programs from the four campuses. Only full-time and tenured Penn State faculty members from the four campuses (State College, Harrisburg, Erie, and Philadelphia) collaborate to deliver the iMBA program content.
