Is the holiday collectible industry lost the the fast pace society we live in?
I own a small Holiday gift shop in Wisconsin called Christmas-N-More and I’m seeing more people getting away from the history of our holiday traditions and just buying stuff with no meaning to it at all. I carry all the holiday decorations from Germany, Poland, Russian, ornaments with special sayings, hand blown and beautifully done, but it seems to me that people aren’t that interested in carrying on the traditions of our fathers and where they came from. I have a web site and sometimes I even have to sell on Ebay and Gocollect to generate some sales. I’m really thinking about closing my doors. Please, let me hear from you I would like to know that I’m not the only one that loves the traditions of the holidays past. A: its the fast paced throw-away society we live in. why bother storing all those unique items that will see use for one month (optimistic) out of a year when we can buy chinese and throw away?
