0

Tampa residents concerned about the health of the Hillsborough River are invited to the Save Our River Town Hall Meeting Saturday, Feb. 18, 10 a.m. at the Harbor Club, 918 Grant St. in Sulphur Springs. For more information, see www.friendsofhillsboroughriver.org or call 813-237-8497. The event will include environmental reports and discussion on government proposals to block freshwater flow and pump treated sewage water into the lower Hillsborough River at the Rowlett Park dam. A coalition of non-profit organizations led by Friends of the River is hosting the event to build awareness of upcoming decisions that will affect the flow, health and safety of the lower Hillsborough River. Other coalition members include Sierra Club Tampa Bay, Clean Water Action and Florida Consumer Action Network. Our guests were Phil Compton and Liz Taylor of Friends of the River.
