Is the hands-on evaluation required for instructors?
No. A hands-on evaluation of equipment operation is not required for instructors, however, a requirement of OSHA’s standards for forklift safety is that any instructor delivering training to operators must have a good working knowledge of the equipment as well as having the ability to teach and certify forklift operators.
