Is the Gresham Park site subject to flooding?
This part of West Bridgford is protected from the River Trent by walls and embankments, built since the floods in 1947. Land drainage to Greythorn Dyke has been improved by the installation of pumps to transfer storm water to the River Trent. Following the recent major fluvial strategy study published earlier this year, the Environment Agency plans to improve the levels of protection to cope with the higher river levels that are now thought to be possible. The design and layout of the site is being studied and developed to take account of extreme conditions.
