Is the greenhouse effect different than global warming?

The greenhouse effect is when certain gases like carbon dioxide and other things trap the heat of the sun in the atmosphere. If we didn’t have that the earth would be so cold no one would ever be able to live on it. It is a very good thing. (proof God loves us.) Global warming is when the average temperature of the earth raises it is caused (I think) by sun spots which change the amount of heat that we get from the sun. The earth goes through these cycles every so often. Ever heard of the ice age. Or the little ice age in the middle ages. Bakc then global worming was a good thing.
