Is the government doing enough to protect the environment ?
The problem is that you don’t want to be told what to do and when to do it. If the government did all it could to protect the environment, the environment would be protected; on the other hand freedoms and rights, civil liberties, and choices would be impinged upon. The government would have to fingerprint the litter and chase down the cold case litter. The government would impose so many rules and regulations your right to pursue happiness would no longer exist. You would have to live in a clean environment with no rights. You would have guards watching your behaviors to see if you dirty up the environment. The only way around it is to be a Capitalist. If private industry capitalizes on the environment, the environment would be kept clean and healthy because the money involved would motivate the work. It is one way or the other really, government or private industry. It is the same argument for the security of the country, if the government produces all the security officers and secur
