This is the most difficult concept for most to let go of, as we are bombarded with images in the media and especially on the covers and within the pages of yoga magazines of pencil thin women in bizarre and painful looking poses. This is unnecessary. It looks pretty cool, but it does cause the ego to get involved, not a goal and can cause injury rather than benefit. We are a visual society and those images sell. Some of the best yogis I know, my Dad for one, have never done a good basic yoga pose in their lives. What is yoga really? This I something everyone needs to discover on his or her own. Don’t let the images fool you!
