In the kindergarten there are teachers who only speak English and others who mainly speak German. So the children learn both languages in a natural and playful way throug their dayly Kindergarten routines. The way of teaching is the so-called immersion. The central point is the intermediation, the “contextualization”. The language must be integrated into the action supported by gestures and pointing. At school most of the lessons are held in English. Additionally, German is taught as a foreign language and also the Mathematic lessons are mainly taught in German. With higher grades the percentage of the lessons which are held in German will increase so that the students will have at least one additional subject in German (preferable natural sciences).
