Street Rod 3 will be free, but it will not be open source for several reasons: • Open source would make it extremely easy for someone to change a few lines of code and pass our hard work off as their own. • The game utilizes a proprietary format developed by Auxiliary Software for 3d models to prevent unauthorized use of the models used in the game. Making SR3 open source would reveal the details of the format and essentaily defeat the prupose of using it.
