Is the Game Boy Advance (GBA) SP discontinued?
The GBA is pretty outdated at this point, so you should definitely go with a DS. All the new handheld games being made are for either the PSP or DS, and since you said you’re buying this for your daughter, I’m assuming she is a child, and the DS games tend to be more kid-friendly than the PSP ones. The DS also plays all the old gameboy advance games, but it isn’t compatible with the super old Gameboy (original) or gameboy color games. Edit: Don’t buy your daughter a GBA despite what some people are saying. It is obsolete, no new games are made for it, and it’ll be a pain in the *** to find old games for it at any stores.
