Is the FWS clearance process any different if I file using eDecs?

Answer 25: No. You still need to obtain clearance from us before U.S. Customs releases your shipment or you consign it for export. You must still submit a hard copy of the processed declaration to U.S. Customs for imports. When your electronic declaration has been reviewed by the wildlife inspector, an e-mail notification will be sent to you. The e-mail notification will be addressed to the e-mail address you provide with your eDecs account. The e-mail notification will state whether your electronic declaration has been “ACCEPTED” or “REJECTED.” If your declaration has been “ACCEPTED,” the e-mail notification will include additional information necessary to finalize processing of your cleared or refused shipment. A hyperlink will be provided to a printable version of your declaration. If your electronic declaration is “REJECTED,” the e-mail notification will include details as to the reason(s) for rejection. You will have the option of accessing and correcting the rejected declaration.
