Is the foster care system really THAT bad?
It’s worse! Think about this for a moment; Why does the number of children in California’s foster care system continue to go UP, but the number of adoptions goes DOWN; The number of qualified foster parents in California goes DOWN; Yet, the number of group homes (orphanages) and money spent on them in California goes UP. On average, $500 a month is spent to have a foster child in a foster/adoptive placement, yet (according to California Dept. of Finance and LA County LAO Report) we continue to keep them in group homes which costs anywhere between $1450 – $6370 a month! This all despite the fact that statistics show 60% of children in foster care are adopted from their foster parents!
