Is the Forensic technology that they use on CSI an accurate representation of what real forensic equipment is?
Well, the computer graphics that are used to create movie scenes work pretty darn well so I would say that investigative science would have access to the same equipment. I think it is a true representation of what is available to police departments. The thing is do most have them? No. Too expensive, particualrly smaller cities. TV is entertainment and the audiences are smart so you see that more and more shows that involve technical equipment are fairly accurate. Otherwise people notice and complain. The story line is most important though because that is what drives the characters, not science accuracy. Like characters in shows about regular people that are wearing designer clothes. Not in real life but on tv anything is possible.
