Is the fingerprinting different from the background check?

0

The fingerprinting is part of the background check process. The Bureau of Criminal Investigation will use your fingerprints and your demographic information to search through the criminal database and police warrants. How long does it take to get the results and who gets them? Typically, if there are no issues, results will be cleared through BCI within 72 hours. However, due to the budget cuts, BCI’s decreased hours, and the increase in the number people across the state who are now required to have background checks, it could take longer. The results go directly to the requesting agency. If your agency has not received your results after two weeks, they need to contact BCI to determine the holdup. We are not involved in the process in anyway after we transmit your records.
