Yes. It is based on a true story as it was told by two New York City police officers explaining what they experienced on September 11, 2001. World Trade Center is a movie about the struggle the New York police officers had on the morning of September 11, 2001 when two planes crashed into the World Trade Center.Some of the officers become trapped in the collapsed building and are forced to wait until help arrives. They are not sure that they will get out alive or not. Half of the movie is focused on the trapped officers and the other half is focused on their families. This movie is based on a true story and was told by the police officers who survived the situation.
