Is the fall from grace and political demise of Hazel blears a modern day morality tale?
Hazel Blears will go down in political history as one opportunist who put her head above the parapet too quickly. What she did not take into consideration when she chanced her arm’ was the power and intrigue Peter Mandelson would go to to have her de selected from the Labour party constituency list. It was only the loyalty of the local Labour constituency who stood up to Mandelson and Brown that saved her political neck. But when the ‘dust has settled’ in all of this after this general election is over will Hazel Blears stand against Brown and Mandelson prove to be Blears’s strong point and Browns and Mandelson’s Waterloo as it is a pointer to the demise of the Labour Party as we know it caused by lies deceit and manipulation. Hazel Blears when the Labour Party hold its inquest may just just maybe come out of this smiling and saying; “I told you so”!
