Is the fact that coligative property is inversely proportional to Molar mass just a mathematical result?
molar mass inversely related to the colligative property not as a reflection of the specific identity of a substance but more as a result of its effect on the number of particles made available per given weight of a substance.. example: given equal weights of two different substances whose molar mass differ such that one is half that of the other, the number of particles present in the heavier molar mass would be half the number of particles present in the substance with lighter molar mass….
