Is the entire trunk of an elephant considered its ose organ?
An elephant’s trunk is composed of the nose and of the upper lip (of course the most part of it is the nose). The trunk does not have a nasal bone or any other bone. Its movement is possible due to approximately 40,000 muscles, which group themselves around the nose tubes. In the trunk of the elephants, there are also two nostrils, thru which the elephants breathe. They can also keep up to 8 litres of water into these nostrils and then blow it into their mouth. Unlike people think sometimes, Elephants can’t drink the water directly thru their trunks. This would cause the same cough that humans have when some liquid goes thru their noses. Just for general knowledge let me add that at the end of the trunk, the African elephant has two fingers, while the Asian elephant has one finger (this is why they can take things and food). This doesn’t mean that Asian elephants are less skilful with their trunks, they just approach things differently.
