Is the Electoral Commission ready?
We are ready for the 2011 general elections. We are trying as much as possible to follow our road map, but there is no plan cast on stone. There could be unforeseen events that could cause the revising of the road map. However, generally we are obliging to what we rolled out as the road map. We are working on the final register by integrating recommended changes from the field, following the display. The display this time was modernised by inculcating a 10-day period of natural justice. We have for more than three years been talking about natural justice. The Commission proposed an extra period for the display of the register and it was accepted. We gave an extra 10 days for those recommended for deletion such as the dead, those who have moved away from their locations, those under voting age and foreigners. They were grant
