Is the Drexel DrNP a practice-doctorate?
Yes, the Drexel DrNP is a doctor of nursing practice degree, but it is a hybrid. It is modeled after the DrPH (Doctor of Public Health) and the PsyD (Psychology Doctorate) degrees. We like to call is a hybrid doctorate because it combines a focus on clinical nursing practice (like the DNP) with clinical nursing research (like the PhD) by having each student complete a practice oriented ‘clinical dissertation’ that will generate evidence for the discipline.
