Is the Denta-gard safer than the cheaper boil and bite sports mouth guards?
Without definitive comparison studies, it would be difficult to say if one sports mouth guard is safer than the other. However, there are some important considerations when determining the value and safety of mouth guards. The boil and bite products degree of protection may depend on how well the product is molded. If, during fitting, the bite is too deep there is a risk of ” bite through” which would compromise protection. Small children may have fear of biting into the hot plastic.
