Is the DASS resistant to respondents faking good or bad?
No, like other self-report symptom-based scales, the DASS is transparent and it is easy for a respondent to either disguise their symptoms (faking good or social desirability) or exaggerate their symptoms (faking bad or malingering). There is no lie scale built into the DASS, but if there is reason to expect bias in responding, it may be advisable to administer another instrument specifically designed to assess such bias.
