Is The Daily Mail an awful newspaper to read?
The Daily Mail is very selective about how they report news. They have a political stance which is extreme right-wing, pro-business, anti-Europe and also very pessimistic. They enjoy scaremongering. For some reason, they also have a penchant for astrology, alternative medicine and crank science. Pretty much all of their scientific and medical reporting should be regarded with extreme caution, to say the least. If you read the Daily Mail all the time, I suspect you would become very scared of the world and filled with hatred for a whole variety of people you had never met.
I read the online version mainly because it is probably one of the best structured and most regularly updated online papers. In terms of content it’s extremely biased and very right wing – you learn to take it with a very big pinch of salt and separate the real news from the crap. They don’t seem to like women very much either, they’re always having a dig at the female celebs, usually because of how they look.
ALL papers interpret and deliver information in the way they want – not just the Daily Mail. It’s quite “hip and trendy” to say you hate the Daily Mail – usually said by tree huggers and eco warriors. Love it or hate it what I do like about the Mail is that it has opinions unlike the Independent which just sits on the fence – boring……..
