It just usually occupies a larger volume of animal cells. Likewise, you’ll find centrosomes in both kinds of cells. These are microtubule organizing centers that are critical for cellular division. The central vacuole is plant cell-specific. It’s used for storage and maintaining turgor pressure. Animal cells (and other cells for that matter) have vacuoles that are used for other purposes.
