Is the cost of testing covered by insurance?
Most insurance companies provide some coverage for psychological testing. If this is an important factor for you, please check with your insurance carrier prior to the evaluation. From my experience, I have learned that it’s helpful to describe the problem to insurance companies in very specific terms (“I have trouble maintaining my attention” or “I have trouble remembering things”) so that they understand why the testing is necessary. The insurance company may ask for CPT codes, which describe the types of procedures to be performed.
