Most of our competitors in the Russell Group have already implemented college structures and we are in danger of being left behind if we don’t act quickly. It is also imperative that we set our plans in motion as soon as possible to coincide with the Student Lifecycle Project (SLP) and to compliment our research objectives for the next Research Exercise Framework (REF). Alongside these reasons the restructuring process will incur opportunity costs, and shortening the period of time over which the changes take place is essential to help limit these.
