Is the CLL compatible with the GPL (or similar licenses)?
I am sure it is! As the GPL is enforced through the Copyright the only thing you must make sure is, not to cover CLLled code by such a Copyright. How you do this is up to you, the one who introduces the CLLled code into the GPLled code. The result then can be covered by the GPL in the whole, however be sure to clearly state which parts of the code are not under a copyright and came with the CLL! There simply is no problem with the GPL, as you are explicitly allowed to change any terms of the CLLled code, including the license. So CLLled code shall be perfectly compatible to any other license, not only the GPL. Please also note that you are not allowed to place additional restrictions on the GPL. However you do not do this with CLLled code, as there simply is no restriction. GPLled code is copyrighted. Because of this you are not allowed to change this Copyright, as the Copyright is the part which enforces the GPL. CLLled code has no such Copyright, so nobody can enforce the GPL on this
