Is the clear acrylic scratch resistant?
No, we use picture framing grade acrylic. This material will scratch with miss-handling, but once installed and not susceptible to miss-handling it should last for many years. In the industry there is a “scratch resistant” or “abrasion resistant” acrylic available. This product is more than twice the cost of standard picture holder grade acrylic and it is very difficult to process (for example, cannot be bended or bonded). Its primary use are for counter or writing surfaces that comes in contact with many objects.
