I never have attended an Anglican or Episcopalian service. I have met people who were Episcopalian, and who claimed to know Catholic doctrine well. I must say that I did not test them to see if they indeed knew Catholic doctrine well, so I am not sure they did. Episcopalians I have met claim that there is no difference between Catholicism and the Anglican Church. They claim to regard the Eucharist as truly the substantial body of Christ. I, and the rest of The Catholic Church, do not recognize Anglican priests as validly ordained, so I do not recognize their Eucharist as the Body of Christ. I think that in doctrine and ritual practice, most Anglicans are very close to the Catholic Church. After all, it must be admitted that the Church of England did not separate from The Catholic Church for true doctrinal reasons.
