Is the cherry tree a real or illusory structure (ie. part of Seishirous magic?
Tokyo Babylon has a lot of magical elements to it, so there’s no reason why the Sei-chan’s cherry tree can’t be real. Instead of telling the fans, CLAMP leave this open for speculation and I guess it’s all a question of what you believe based on what you know about the story and characters. I personally feel that there is a strong possibility it could be a real structure. It’s unlikely that the Sakurazukamori clan would be so devoted to something they’ve conjured up. Perhaps it’s a case of the tree being possessed by a malevolent spirit? Or the tree simply has a will of its own and a lust for blood.
